King of Kings and Prince of Peace (Part III)

Mary didn’t understand how Jesus could be conceived and grow within her, yet she chose to trust, accept, and receive the gift from the Lord. In the same way, in our walk with God, we often do not fully comprehend how He is working in and through us. Yet, His hands are continually shaping us, growing us, and strengthening us according to His perfect will.

As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. Ecclesiastes 11:5

Mary’s only involvement in Jesus’ conception was her willingness to accept the work of the Holy Spirit in her life. The King of Kings began to take on human nature in her womb, growing in stature and wholeness within her. Jesus, though divine, was dependent on His mother to care for Him in the womb until the time of His birth. The Holy One grew within her just like any other baby, but Mary knew her child was extraordinary—He had come from on high!

In a similar way, when we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit begins to dwell within us, bringing life to our spirit. While we may not fully comprehend the works of God or the transformation happening within us, we are born again, and the nature of God begins to grow in us.

Mary knew she was carrying a Holy Child. Do we recognize that we, too, have become carriers of His holiness when we receive Him as our Savior? At first, we accept this change by faith. We know we have been touched by God, yet we may not fully understand the profound impact of being born again. Initially, the transformation may not be visible to others—it might seem as though nothing has changed. However, as the new life within us grows and begins to reflect the nature of God, our transformation becomes evident and undeniable.

The King of Kings, who entered the world through Mary’s womb, desires to take His rightful place in our hearts and lives. When we prioritize Him and allow Him room to grow within us, the magnificence of the gift entrusted to us by God becomes clear. As we nurture the seed of life within us and recognize His holiness, we are inspired to live sanctified lives, preparing our hearts as a dwelling place for the One who is holy!

Just as Mary did—we are called to embrace His plans even when they surpass our understanding. God’s work in our lives is always purposeful, even when unseen or beyond our grasp. Let us choose to respond with faith and surrender, confident that He who began a good work in us will carry it to completion!
