The Great Differentiator (Part I)

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 55:3

The creation and humanity continue to have birth pangs awaiting the redemption of all things! This weekend we remember the incredible price Jesus paid on the cross to pave the way for our salvation and redemption! His birth, life, and His resurrection were all miraculous and bring hope to humanity!

I shared in a devotional in December about Jesus’ virgin birth and how that set Him apart from all the other prophets who have ever come. Jesus came through a virgin, which qualified Him to be the only one who could take away the sins of the world through His perfect birth and sinless life!

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2Corinthians 5:14-15

Jesus came to this world because of the loving and kindness of the Father who wanted to reconcile the world to Himself. The Lord’s plan had been all along to lead us to repentance and open the door for us to return to Him through His son. Jesus’ crucifixion, death, and burial showed His amazing love towards humanity. However, that was not the end of the story. Many have been martyred for their faith. If that was all there was, he would have been greatly honored. But what makes His sacrifice incredible is that He was raised from the dead on the third and He was seen by hundreds of people. This means that every follower of Jesus has been given the free gift of salvation and has gained eternal life!

Just as no other prophet has ever claimed to be born of virgin birth, there is also no prophet who has been resurrected from the dead. Jesus was the fulfillment of all the prophesies about the Messiah that people had been waiting for, and all of these things differentiates from all other prophets and priests sent from God!

How has God’s salvation and redemption changed your life!? Pray for opportunities to share the good news and your testimony with someone this weekend!
